Black Parrot Paddling has been providing premiere kayaking instruction for those in the Southeast Michigan area since 1994. We offer a wide range of programs for adults, kids and families including ACA courses, BCU courses, Women Only courses, private group outings, and Adventure Race certification.

Our Philosophy
Most of our courses and trips are based on the American Canoe Association (ACA) curriculum and teaching techniques. An emphasis is placed on safety, identifying and managing risks, leave no trace ethics, and promoting a safe learning environment where participants can feel comfortable taking risks. The successful class is one where all participants have a mishap free day while having fun and learning new skills.

Black Parrot Paddling, LLC’s mission is to provide high quality instruction to paddlers at all levels that will allow them to safely challenge themselves while learning new skills and techniques.  The end goal is to help everyone enjoy a lifetime of paddle sport activity safely.
